Nach dem Versöhnungstheater und der Gegenwartsbewältigung wendet sich die dritte Staffel der Gesprächsreihe von Max Czollek der Zukunft zu. Ihr Titel lautet: Der Anfang ist nah. Das mag angesichts der Katastrophen, die sich in den vergangenen Jahren ereignet haben und aktuell abzeichnen, etwas kontraintuitiv wirken – doch genau darum geht es: die Krise als Ausgangspunkt zu nehmen, um anders und besser weiterzumachen. Das setzt eine doppelte Einsicht voraus: die Anerkennung, dass aktuelle Entwicklungen die bisherigen politischen und ökonomischen Bedingungen und sozialen Umgangsformen radikal infrage stellen. Und die Annahme, dass es daher darum gehen muss, neu anzusetzen, damit sich die Dinge zum Positiven wenden. Die Frage danach, was nicht funktioniert hat und aktuell nicht funktioniert, ist also eng verbunden mit der Frage nach der Zukunft. Sie bildet die Klammer für Czolleks Gespräche mit Akteur*innen, die sich auf die eine oder andere Weise mit der Frage befassen, wie es weitergehen kann und muss. Die also Ideen entwickeln und Impulse setzen für das Motto dieser dritten Staffel: Der Anfang ist nah.

After Theatre of Reconciliation and Overcoming the Present, the third season of Max Czollek’s series of talks, entitled The Beginning is Near, looks to the future. Considering the calamities of recent years and those currently looming, this may seem counterintuitive, but that’s the point: to take these crises as a starting point from which to move forward to different and better things. It requires a twofold insight: firstly, recognizing that current developments radically question previous political and economic conditions and social mores, and secondly acknowledging that things must therefore start anew in order to change for the better. The question of what has not worked and is currently not working is closely linked to the question of the future. It forms the context for Czollek’s conversations with people who, in one way or another, are dealing with the question of how things can and must continue. These interlocutors develop ideas and provide stimuli for the motto of this third season: The Beginning is Near.
